Meditation helps to balance stress and its associated symptoms, including anxiety, headaches, and fatigue. It can also improve sleep quality, boost the immune system and inspire peace.
Stress comes in many forms through personal relationships, work, health challenges, our own inner thoughts and more, and can have both physical and mental effects on the body. Meditation is an effective way to balance stress, improve our overall well-being, and bring us back "home" to ourselves.
There are various meditation techniques from around the world that can help to reduce stress, including deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided imagery. These techniques can be practiced by beginners through advanced.
I focus on all of these and also include body alignment awareness in the process learned from my bodywork and various movement and dance experience.
Learning basic alignment, breath work, and relaxation techniques alone I believe is the foundation to any meditation practice. Other "tools & techniques" can be added, or not, at other times. It's very key to focus on the breath.
Other techniques and tools can help to increase focus and relaxation including guided visualizations, essential oils, chanting & sounding, candlelight, and music.
Meditation Instruction is offered for individuals and groups of all ages and levels.
